TWO FOR TUESDAY {REDO}

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Iris (Video) - Goo Goo Dolls

Iris
The Goo Goo Dolls

And I’d give up forever to touch you
‘Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You’re the closest to Heaven that I’ll ever be
And I don’t want to go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
When sooner or later it’s over
I just don’t want to miss you tonight

And I don’t want the world to see me
‘Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can’t fight the tears that ain’t coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know you’re alive

And I don’t want the world to see me
‘Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don’t want the world to see me
‘Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

The Goo Goo Dolls

And even though the moment passes me by
I still can’t turn away

‘Cause all the dreams you never thought you’d lose
Got tossed along the way

And letter that you never meant to send
Get lost and thrown away

And now we’re grown up orphans
That never knew their names
We don’t belong to no one
That’s a shame

But you can hide beside me
Maybe for a while
And I won’t tell no one your name
And I won’t tell ‘em your name

And scars are souvenirs you never lose
The past is never far

Did you lose yourself somewhere out there
Did you get to be a star

And don’t it make you sad to know that life
Is more than who we are

We grew up way too fast
And now there’s nothing to believe
And reruns all become
Our history

A tired song keeps playing
On a tired radio
And I won’t tell no one your name
And I won’t tell ‘em your name

I won’t tell ‘em your name

I think about you all the time
But I don’t need the same
It’s lonely where are
Come back down
And I won’t tell ‘em your name

  1. I have to admit I was surprised (but pleasantly so) to find Goo Goo Dolls videos posted here. Iris is one of my all time favorites, the words are so beautiful and it's sung with such feeling. One of the few songs I never get tired of listening to.

  3. I have been made all too painfully aware of the fact that most think that I am absolutely nuts (at best). For many songs have meant so more to me than they were originally intended. Both of these songs are good examples of that--especially Iris. For from the very first time I heard it, there was not a doubt in my mind that it was our Heavenly Father reminding me that in a world where He has made everything to be broken, He just wanted me to know who He was. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Tina!!!
