Come Monday...Kindled

“Come Monday…” is a weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about,  websites, movies, documentaries, television shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time.  Be assured that these reviews will be generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come Monday.”  This is subject to change, however.  In fact, I would be most derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while.  For rants promote change, and change can be good—right?  Therefore, since good is generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).

The Crackerhead Chronicles is now for sale on [Amazon.com] for $1.00, and I would greatly appreciate published reviews of the book by as many as possible in order to help stimulate sales.  For our situation is looking more and more desperate with each passing day.

Yes, the content of the book has been offered for free for years on here and [FishHawk Droppings], and it still is.  For what I have been given to say has never been meant to be about making money, but we have been sitting here without any income of any kind for almost three months now.

No, not even my Social Security Disability check is still coming in.  For after losing her job last November, Arlynda cashed in her 401K, which left us with more than $3,000.00 in the bank, and the Social Security Administration ruled that I am no longer eligible to receive disability compensation until it can be proven that we have less than $3,000.00 worth of what they consider to be financial resources, which was accomplished late last month.

Well, at least the part about no longer having over $3,000.00 in the bank was accomplished.  In fact, we will drop below $2,000.00 by the end of this week, but until the Social Security Administration says that we are okay in regards to this, we will remain not okay.

Oh, and adding insult to injury, we had to pay back the $653.39 that we had received for November, December and January.  Yeah, when having over a $1,000 a month worth of bills, a government check for $293.02 does not count for all that much, but it is certainly better than nothing.

No, I am not to the panic stage yet, but Arlynda’s deteriorating health is starting to weight quite heavily upon us.  For we just plain cannot afford to pay the almost $1,000 a month [COBRA] cost, and she is now in more desperate need of some of her medications than ever (naturally-speaking, of course).

I am sorry for sounding so vague about her deteriorating health.  I have been hoping that she would be able to write about it herself by now, but it is looking like that is not going to happen anytime soon (if ever).  So, I will publish something about it here in a few weeks.

Be assured that I hate having to beg more than just about anything, but there is also a PayPal donate button over there on the sidebar.  I do not plan on saying any more about it.  Therefore, please do not be reluctant to come by here again.

Oh, and in regards to the reviews of The Crackerhead Chronicles, I am asking for really good ones.  Considering the mindset of many of the regulars around here, it seemed prudent to make that clear.

Okay, if you insist, the review doesn’t have to be glowing, but any reasonable person would have to admit that there is something for just about everyone in the book, I would think.  Hey, there are parts of it that should give even deadly serious atheists a really good laugh!

  2. Jerry you need to double check about that. I qualified for disability and my husband's income had nothing to do with it.

Everything was all about me and had nothing to do with his 50+ a year income or anything we owned jointly. I still qualified!

    You need a lawyer!

  3. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Adullamite!!! Yes, I would certainly agree that we need a national healthcare system, but considering the quality of healthcare available to most of us now--regardless of who is paying for it... Be assured that I will get into the nitty-gritty in the piece that is yet to come.

  4. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Jackie!!! I was granted partial disability status while you were probably granted full disability. Oh, and we have had two lawyers, and we haven't heard a peep out of the last one in almost three years when the appeal of my case was supposed to have been resolved by the national panel over a year and a half ago! As with Arlynda's deteriorating health, I will be publishing a piece on our social insecurity system later on.

  5. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Frustrating when having to deal with the govt and their insistence on making things difficult for those who really need the help

  6. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Ann!!! Yeah, they seem to have gone to get lengths to make it very difficult to actually follow the rules while leaving it not impossible for those who want to cheat to get away with it.

  11. Crud, Fish, that is some bad news. What gives? There are so many people working the system and they get help. It's so frustrating to watch. Ugh.

I will add you to my prayers, my friend.
