The Bee Gees vs. Faith No More

I Started A Joke
The Bee Gees
I started a joke
Which started the whole world
Crying
But I didn’t see
Oh no
That the joke was on me
Oh no

I started to cry
Which started the whole world
Laughing
Oh if I’d only seen
Oh yeah
That the joke was on me

I
Looked at the skies
Running my hands
Over my eyes
And I
Fell out of bed
Hurting my head
From things that I’d said

‘Til I finally died
Which started the whole world
Living
Oh if I’d only seen
Oh yeah
That the joke was on me

I
Looked at the skies
Running my hands
Over my eyes
And I
Fell out of bed
Hurting my head
From things that I’d said

‘Til I finally died
Which started the whole world
Living
Oh if I’d only seen
Oh yeah
That the joke was on me
Oh no
That the joke was on me
Oh
Oh
Oh
Oh

I Started A Joke
Faith No More
I started a joke
Which started the whole world
Crying
But I didn’t see
That the joke was on me
Oh no

I started to cry
Which started the whole world
Laughing
Oh if I’d only seen
That the joke was on me

And I
Looked at the skies
Running my hands
Over my eyes
And I
Fell out of bed
Hurting my head
From things that I’d said

‘Til I finally died
Which started the whole world
Living
Oh if I’d only seen
That the joke was on me

And I
Looked at the skies
Running my hands
Over my eyes
And I
Fell out of bed
Hurting my head
From things that I’d said

‘Til I finally died
Which started the whole world
Living
Oh if I’d only seen
That the joke was on me
That the joke was on
Me-e-e-e
Me-e-e-e

  1. "I started a joke" indeed.
    Grace will be unhappy.

  2. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!! It is so good of you to be thinking of her feelings. By the way, if you two get a reality show, I expect to get my cut.

  3. I'm not unhappy - bewildered perhaps - I actually sat through the entire "Faith No More" video (whoever they are) waiting for a punchline - I guessed I missed it. Thanks for posting the lyrics - they are dumber than dumb...All in all - No...

  4. Ok, I have to say that I found the guy in Faith No More rather creepy looking.

  5. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! I suppose the punchline might be that a somewhat sappy song can compensate for being a jerk. Although, that sappy song hits way too close to home for my comfort.

  6. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! What I found the creepiest of all is how much Faith No More stayed true to the original version of the song. For they are best known for "Epic."
