Sites To See

This is the new version of FIVE FOR FRIDAY. As with the former, it is the SOLE purpose of this weekly series to call attention to sites that I think many would find most interesting—in one way or another. Please, go see for yourself.

  7. Thanks for a great site - I enjoy visiting your site and reading your wonderful posts that are a blessing. As of 4/1/09 I will no longer be on Entrecard as my hosting company has banned the use of EC. I have bookmarked your site so I can continue to follow you.

  8. I must admit that I am rather confused about why Today.com has chosen to ban the use Entrecard on their sites, my dear Mike. For the reason that I have heard given is that they do not allow third-party advertising, and yet they still allow Google Adsense ads, or is it that they are being banned, as well? I hope staying with them is worth it.

Be assured that I greatly appreciate your continued encouragement. For you have become a great blessing to me, and I hope many others come to appreciate your Science Fun! site as much I have. A permanent link to it will remain on my "Places of Interest."

Hey, our Heavenly Father just gave me the thought that it would be even better to also affix a visual link, using your old Entrecard 125x125 advert icon, to the sidebar since He has finally gotten me to see how to do such a thing (I am SO technically-challenged). So, I'll get on that forthwith! May our Heavenly Father continue to greatly bless you and yours, my dear Mike.

  9. Hi FishHawk - thanks for your words of encouragement. Today.com makes its revenue from its contracts with google adsense. Entrecard was allowed on Today.com blogs as they did not carry third party ads. Now that Entrecard will be running these third party ads, it goes against whatever agreements they have with the google ad feeds. Lord bless you!

  10. Methinks that it may have more to do with the fact that Today.com wants more of a cut of Entrecard's action than they are willing to part with. For Blogger/Blogspot is owned by Google now, and I haven't heard a peep about them banning Entrecard here. Of course, I may have no idea what I'm talking about. Either way, I hope it works out for the best for all concerned.

P.S.: I'm glad you're pleased with your links. He seems to be quite fond of you for some reason. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. The link would be greatly apppreciated, my dear Mike, but it is certainly not expected. For just the fellowship between us is more than enough for me.

Since the Blogger spam filter has been found sorely lacking lately, I will start moderating comments. Be assured that I am only interested in deleting spam. So, if you feel a need to take me to task over something—even anonymously, go ahead and let 'er rip, and I will publish it as soon as I can.
