SiteHoundSniffs' Revenue-Sharing Program

I have always taken rejection rather personally, and it especially hurts when being rejected by those who know me.  For almost everyone included in the first round of listings on [SiteHoundSniffs.com] were included in one of the editions of the Sites To See series we had on here over the years.  Yet, only around 10% of those contacted so far have given permission to have their headers displayed on SiteHoundSniffs, and a few of those who did give permission did not know me from before.  No, there was no actual relationship established with most.  In fact, most never even acknowledged being included in a Sites To See edition, but it should have been proven in their mind that I am not trying to run any sort of spam-scam.

What am missing?  For I do not know how having your header displayed on SiteHoundSniffs could cause you any harm.  If anything, it should be of at least some benefit.  For a linked 300 x 150 (pixels) image certainly stands out over just an 18-point text link.

Sure, we are benefiting, too.  For the displayed headers enhance the experience for those stopping by to look for something of interest, but the links are of the greatest value, which are provided out of the juicy goodness of our little ‘ol pea-pickin’ hearts.

Okay, I do have an ulterior motive, but it is as pure as the freshly-fallen snow.  For I hope SiteHoundSniffs will generate enough revenue from outside advertising to make me a contributing member of society again and off of the welfare rolls.  If I could work enough for someone to pay me, I would do about anything, but I have not been able to for over 15 years now.  So, the 2-3 hours (on good days) that I can sit in front of this desktop and do what I do has to do.

Furthermore, I plan on sharing 90% of the advertising revenue with those gracious enough to let us display their header.  Of course, there will not be any advertising revenue to share unless the site has enough traffic.  So, if you could say something (preferable good) about SiteHoundSniffs here and there, it would be good for both yourself and us on this side of the screen.  Besides, if Grayson does not get enough treats…

  1. Jerry, I have no desire for any revenue from your efforts; those are YOUR efforts. Folks should be happy to get any extra traffic your site brings them. Some folks apparently just don't have any sense. Best of luck with the project.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Gorges!!! Well, Grayson had a little talk with me after seeing the 90%, and it is looking like it will be a much smaller number. He says that we can talk about it, but I know how he is. Sigh.

    2. Thank you so very much, my dear Silver Fox!!! I will get right on it, and you will be able to see it under All, Daily Life, Gardening and the United States (the slideshow on the Home page pooped out). I will leave a thank you comment on The Dirt after the header is displayed.

  5. I can't understand why anyone would not want to share their header. It costs them nothing and they can only stand to benefit from it. Who doesn't like having new people visit their blogs.
As for sharing any of the revenue earned through your site, that is very generous of you but as another commenter stated, it's your hard work and you can consider my share a donation to the Grayson treat fund :)

    2. Thanks for your work. Of course, I had tried to translate your "Terms of use" with help of google-translator. It isn't only the language, it is, that I cannot understand that all, was in web is going on and I always have worries to make a misstake and have bad results one day...

      Delete
    3. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Mascha!!! The Terms of Use is just something that was recommended to publish to protect against things that I cannot imagine what. I know what you mean about the translator. For I translated back into English what I had left on your site in German and it did not come out all that right. The bottom line is that SiteHoundSniffs.com is all about making it easier for people to find something of interest, and I have no bad intentions at all, nor with to make money off of those listed. So, I hope you will let me display your linked site header in place of the title in text that is there now.

So thanks I don't know why you didn't get a reply. Maybe people are too busy with this and that. Can't you just take the headers and explain on the site that if they don't agree you take it off but. They are linked so in fact referenced. I took logos and headers of peoples website at work too and linked them. As it was advertising for them it can't harm. Don't take it personally though I am sure it isn't

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Marja!!! Since I am hoping to host paid business advertising later on, it was advised that I should not do anymore than what can be found on a Google search until given permission to display the header. For someone could come by later and sue me for all I have for using their property without permission--despite me wanting to share the revenue when it is possible. Besides, I do not like upsetting people, and some have been very upset just over me asking them for permission. Sigh.

Speakin of the Spanish, a actual lady from Spain had a very bad reaction to me asking to display the header for her site. For not only did she obviously reject my request--she wanted all links to her site removed from SiteHoundSniffs. After exchaning a couple of emails and actually removing all of the links, she changed her mind on both counts. So, I will be re-listing her site and displaying the header as soon as I can. Alas, I really don't know what happened. Now, I can believe that our Heavenly Father came to my rescue and changed her heart, but could He not have done it before I went to all of the trouble? LOL.
