ATF: Party On!

This series will include as many of my all-time favorite (ATF) tunes as I can get my grubby little hands on (so to speak).  Now, each one included in each edition will have some connection with the other—albeit only as a figment of my imagination, but they will not be numbered.  For I just cannot bring myself to rate some higher than others.  So, this will not be a countdown, but if you are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t matter.  Besides, with no countdown, this could go on forever and ever!  Oh, and despite the fact that there is absolutely no way your musical tastes could be as exquisite as mine, I welcome any suggestions you might dare to make.  For I am, after all, quite magnanimous by nature.

Freaker’s Ball
Dr. Hook
Well there's gonna be a Freaker's Ball
Tonight at the Freaker's Hall
And you know you're invited
One and all
Uh oh

Come on baby
Grease your lips
Grab your hats
And swing your hips
And don't forget
To bring your whips
We're going to the Freaker's Ball
Yes

Blow your whistle
And bang your gong
Roll up something
To take along
It feels so good
It must be wrong
We're freakin' at the Freaker's Ball

Well all the fags and the dykes
They're boogie-in' together
The leather freaks are dressed
In all kinds of leather
The greatest of the sadists
And the masochists too
Screaming please hit me
And I'll hit you
The FBI
Is dancin' with the junkies
All the straights
Swingin' with the funkies
Across the floor
And up the wall
We're freakin' at the Freaker's Ball
Y'all
We're freakin' at the Freaker's Ball

Everybody's
Kissing each other
Brother with sister
Son with mother
Smear my body
Up with butter
And take me to the Freaker's Ball

Pass that roach please
And pour the wine
I'll kiss yours
If you'll kiss mine
I'm gonna boogie
‘Til I'm cold blind
Freakin' at the Freaker's Ball

White ones
Black ones
Yellow ones
Red ones
Necrophiliacs
Looking for dead ones
The greatest of the sadists
And the masochists too
Screaming please hit me
And I'll hit you
Everybody
Ballin' in batches
Pyromaniacs
Strikin' matches
I'm gonna itch me
Where it scratches
Freakin' at the Freaker's Ball
Y'all
We're freakin' at the Freaker's Ball
We're at a ball
We're Freakin' at the Freaker's Ball

Rock and Roll Fantasy
Bad Company
Yeah
Yeah

Here comes the jesters
One
Two
Three
It's all part of my fantasy
I love the music
And I love to see the crowd
Dancin' In the aisles
And singin' out loud
Yeah
Um yeah
Here comes the dancers
One by one
Your mama's callin'
But you're havin' fun
You find you're dancin'
On a number nine cloud
Put your hands together now
And sing It out loud

It’s all part
Of my rock 'n roll fantasy
Yeah
It’s all part
Of my rock 'n roll dream
Yeah

It’s all part
Of my rock 'n roll fantasy
It’s all part
Of my rock 'n roll dream

Yeah
Yeah
yeah

Put up the spotlights
One and all
And let the feelin'
Get down to your soul
The music's so loud
You couldn’t hear the sound
Reachin' for the sky
And churnin’ up the ground

Its all part
Of my rock 'n roll fantasy
Yeah
Its all part
Of my rock 'n roll dream
Oh yeah
Its all part
Of my rock 'n roll fantasy
Its all part
Of my rock 'n roll dream
Yeah
Fantasy
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Fantasy
Yeah yeah yeah yeah

  1. I think I'll pass on the freakers ball.
I read your email last night but was a bit too lazy to go check out what your were talking about with the pictures. I checked it this morning and when I right click I get the usual window with the copy/paste options as well as the open link, save link ones

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Ann!!! I messed up the first email by saying right-click when it should have been left-click. For when you right-click, the options for saving the image (and other stuff) on your computer are given. Whereas, left-clicking on the uploaded image while in the compose mode brings up a box with options for manipulating the image to a certain extent.

  4. I loved Dr. Hook's entire "Sloppy Seconds" album! Shel Silverstein wrote the entire thing, IIRC.

I sang "Rock and Roll Fantasy" in my very first band.

And on a serious note, here's hoping you've been spared the brunt of the flooding out your way.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Silver Fox!!! It is so good to hear from you again. "Queen of the Silver Dollar" is on the list to be included in this series later on (as is Sylvia's Mother). Um, did you ever have to have Carrie carry you home, too?

In regards to the flooding, we are located on higher ground here, but the area has been hit pretty hard. They have had it worse up around St. Louis, though. This time is supposed to be almost as bad as in 1993, and I was going through there on the truck then. So, I saw for myself just how awfully high the water got.
