This weekly series
will include as many of my all-time favorite tunes as I can get my grubby
little hands on (so to speak). Now, each
one included in each edition will have some connection with the other—albeit
only as a figment of my imagination, but they will not be numbered. For I just cannot bring myself to rate some
higher than others. So, this will not be
a countdown, but if you are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t
matter. Besides, with no countdown, this
could go on forever and ever! Oh, and
despite the fact that there is absolutely no way that your musical tastes can
be as exquisite as mine, I welcome any suggestions that you might dare to
make. I am, after all, quite magnanimous
by nature.
Draggin’ The Line
Tommy James and The
Shondells
Makin' a livin’ the
old hard way
Takin' and givin’
by day by day
I dig snow
And rain
And the bright
sunshine
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
My dog Sam eats
purple flowers
We ain't got much
but what we got's ours
We dig snow
And rain
And the bright
sunshine
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
I feel fine
I'm talkin' ‘bout
Peace of mind
I'm gonna
Take my time
I'm gettin' the
good sign
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Lovin’ the free and
feelin' Spirit
Of huggin' a tree
when you get near it
Diggin' the snow
And the rain
And the bright
sunshine
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin the line
Draggin' the line
I feel fine
I'm talkin' ‘bout
Peace of mind
I'm gonna
Take my time
I'm gettin' the
good sign
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line
Draggin' the line

The Chain
Fleetwood Mac
Listen to the wind
blow
Watch the sun rise
Run in the shadows
Damn your love
Damn your lies
And if you don't
love me now
You will never love
me again
I can still hear
you sayin’
We would never
break the chain
Never break the
chain
And if you don't
love me now
If you don’t love
me now
You will never love
me again
I can still hear
you sayin’
We must never break
the chain
Never break the
chain
Listen to the wind
blow
Down comes the
night
Run in the shadows
Damn your love
Damn your lies
Break the silence
Damn the dark
Damn the light
And if you don't
love me now
You will never love
me again
I can still hear
you sayin’
We would never
break the chain
Never break the
chain
And if you don't
love me now
If you don’t love
me now
You will never love
me again
I can still hear
you sayin’
We must never break
the chain
Never break the
chain
And if you don't
love me now
If you don’t love
me now
You will never love
me again
I can still hear
you sayin’
We must never break
the chain
Never break the
chain
Chain
Keep us together
Runnin’ in the
shadows
Chain
Keep us together
Runnin’ in the
shadows
Chain
Keep us together
Runnin in the
shadows
Chain
Keep us together
Runnin’ in the
shadows
Chain
Keep us together

I love Fleetwood Mac. I had a couple of their albums back in the day that I listened to all the time
ReplyDeleteWow, a second post from you in my reading list this morning. Double cool! Especially the last post of yours I read, because you highlighted some awesome bloggers! Take care, and thanks for being here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Ann!!! Alas, my appreciation for Fleetwood Mac came on rather slow. I can remember being plumb put-out by them beating ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) in every category they were both nominated for on the Grammies one year. Some years later it came to me that their "Rumors" album was one of the best ever produced by anyone.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Karen!!! I am slowly getting back to where I can do what I did before I had another meltdown a month ago. Be assured that I greatly appreciate the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteI love that song "Dragging the Line". It's a great song to be playing when driving along the highway.
ReplyDeleteAnd there's not much of Mac's that I don't like...if anything, actually!
Great music to start off my Saturday!
Thanks for stopping by, my dear Lee!!! That bass trombone blast to Draggin' The Line" is the same note I had to hit on one of our high school stage band numbers. I missed it during a competition one time, and the look I received from our band director convinced me that I had better not do it again. We won the competition as usual, but Mr. Knight was still not too happy with me, which is the reason why we usually won all of the competitions we entered. For he would not tolerate anything less than perfection--even from a bunch of high school students in an area where guitars and fiddles were the most likely instruments to be heard playing.
