Since I have not been given much of a life, I watch an
awful lot of television, which includes an awful lot of commercials. Now, a “GOOD” ad is one that holds my
attention and makes me want to at least learn more about the product or service
it is for. A “BAD” ad is one that
quickly becomes nothing more than background noise when it cannot be skipped
over. “UGLY” ads are much worse. For not only do they make we want to never
see them again, they make me want to never have anything to do with the company
that paid for them to be produced. Of
course, you may feel differently, but I sure wouldn’t say much about it around
anyone with a lick of sense. For I am,
after all, an expert on such things—albeit only in my own mind!

All I can say to Hardies is shame on you! Of course most of them have gone out of business around here anyway. Mac and Don's icky- even though Minnesotans have bought a many of those rubber talking fish for their walls. Not me. Now Burger King on the other hand- bravo- their commercials so good that I kept watching more- like Steven Tyler working behind the counter- now that is funny stuff!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Karen!!! Oh yeah, that Steven Tyler Burger King ad cracks me up every time I see it. Hardees is most definitely going for sloppy sex appeal with their ads, and I consider this one here as being rather tame in comparison to some they have came up with since. My manly manhood is starting to slip away--isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the laughs! I agree with your assessment, but the "awful" one still made me laugh. PS: I love the CLIO awards!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Miss Footloose!!! Alas, it is truly a sad situation when one cannot get the title right to their own pieces. For this is supposed to be a Good, Bad and Ugly edition, and I didn't realize that I had messed it up until you left your comment. (Hopefully, none of the people who like to make fun of me came by before I changed it.)
ReplyDeleteI wonder what kind of drugs they take before coming up with some of these commercials :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Ann!!! I wish they would share. (LOL?)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Karen & LOL w/Ann. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Angelika!!! Ann gets her material from Duke, you know.
ReplyDeleteYou expect me to watch ads with Beckham in them...?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Adullamite!!! Well, after a while, it becomes more like staring than actually watching...
ReplyDeleteHey! Do you use Twitter? I'd like to follow you if that
ReplyDeletewould be ok. I'm undoubtedly enjoying your blog and look forward to new posts.

Undeniably believe that which you said. Your favorite justification seemed to be on the internet the easiest thing to be aware of.
ReplyDeleteI say to you, I definitely get irked while people consider worries that they plainly don't know about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top
and defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take
a signal. Will likely be back to get more.
Thanks
