“Come Monday…” is a
weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about, websites, movies, documentaries, television
shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time. Be assured that these reviews will be
generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come
Monday.” This is subject to change,
however. In fact, I would be most
derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while. For rants promote change, and change can be
good—right? Therefore, since good is
generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel
universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being
something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).
I
was quite distraught when I heard the news that [John Parr] had released a
rewritten version of St. Elmo’s Fire (Man In Motion). For it is one of my all-time favorite songs,
and it adds all the more to the wrong message, which Tim Tebow is either completely
ignorant of, or secretly welcomes all of the attention it brings.
If
you have no idea what I am talking about, please go [here]. Yeah, I suppose I should be thankful that he
didn’t title the new version as St. Tebow’s Fire.

St. Elmo’s Fire (Man In Motion)
John Parr
Growin' up
You don't see the
writin’ on the wall
Passin' by
Passin' by
Movin' straight
ahead
You knew it all
But maybe sometime
But maybe sometime
If you feel the
pain
You'll find you're all alone
You'll find you're all alone
Everything has
changed
Play the game
Play the game
You know you can't
quit until it's won
Soldier on
Soldier on
Only you can do
what must be done
You know in some way
You know in some way
You're a lot like
me
You're just a prisoner
You're just a prisoner
And you're tryin'
to break free
I can see a new horizon
Underneath the
blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's flyin’
I'll be where the eagle's flyin’
Higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion
Gonna be your man in motion
All I need is a
pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin'
Take me where my future's lyin'
St. Elmo's Fire
Ooooh ooh
Burnin’ up
Don't know just how
far that I can go
Just how far I go
Soon be home
Soon be home
Only just a few
miles down the road
I can make it
I can make it
I know I can
You broke the boy in me
You broke the boy in me
But you won't break
the man
I can see a new
horizon
Underneath the
blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's
flyin’
Higher and higher
Gonna be your man
in motion
All I need is a
pair of wheels
Take me where my
future's lyin'
St. Elmo's Fire
I can climb the
highest mountain
Cross the wildest
sea
I can feel St. Elmo's Fire
I can feel St. Elmo's Fire
Burnin' in me
Burnin' in me
Just once in his life
A man has his time
And my time is now
I'm comin’ alive
I can hear the music playin'
I can see the
banners fly
Feel like you're back again
Feel like you're back again
And hope ridin'
high
Gonna be your man in motion
Gonna be your man in motion
All I need is a
pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin'
Take me where my future's lyin'
St. Elmo's Fire
I can see a new
horizon
Underneath the
blazin' sky
I'll be where the
eagle's flyin’
Higher and higher
Gonna be your man
in motion
All I need is a
pair of wheels
Take me where my
future's lyin'
St. Elmo's Fire
I can climb the highest mountain
I can climb the highest mountain
Cross the wildest
sea
I can feel St. Elmo's Fire
I can feel St. Elmo's Fire
Burnin' in me
Burnin'
Burnin'
Burnin' in me
I can feel it
burnin'
Oooh
Oooh
Burnin' inside of
me

Growin' up
Gotta keep your eye on the ball
Gotta keep your eye on the ball
Make it fly
Give it everything
Give your all
But maybe sometimes
If you feel the

You'll find you're all alone
Everything has changed
Play the game
You know you can't quit until it's won
Soldier on

You'll find you're all alone
Everything has changed
Play the game
You know you can't quit until it's won
Soldier on
Only you can do what must be done
You know I’m out
there
Down on one knee
A prisoner
And I’m tryin' to break free
I can see a new horizon
Underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's flyin’
A prisoner
And I’m tryin' to break free
I can see a new horizon
Underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's flyin’
Higher and higher
Gonna be a man in

Broncos team
Take me where my future's lyin'
Tim Tebow’s Fire
Oooh
Burnin' up
Don't know just how far that I can go
Just how far I go
Soon be home
Only just four downs to go
I can make it
I know I can
You broke the boy in me
But you won't break the man
I can see a new horizon
Blazin on the Mile High
I'll be where the eagle's flyin'
Take me where my future's lyin'

I can feel St Elmo’s Fire

I honestly don't know about the song part. But I feel that Tim Tebow is the real deal. sandie
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Sandie!!! Yes, he sure does, but if you read what I published on The Trib, you might feel differently.
ReplyDeleteI'm old...I'll take the original version!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with A Quiet Corner, the original is much better. It's been ages since I've heard that one
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear JP!!! Me, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! I don't know just exactly what it is actually called, but this is one of several songs that came out in the 80's that had a bigger, almost orchestral sound on account of synthesizers (I think), to them, which I really love.
ReplyDeleteIf you had of left just one comment, my dear Sugu, I might have left it alone, but since you have left the same comment (twice!) on four different pieces, it is pretty obvious that you are spammer. Now, I have not marked your comments as such yet, but I will the next time I see one like what you have left this round.
