In answer to your question, I do believe that auto-play was invented to irritate people like you and me, and as far as I am concerned, it has been all too painful successful. However, since I usually don't have my headphones on when visiting cyberspace, auto-play sites don't bother me as much as they could, and the two sites listed here are well worth a look-see, anyway.
