Eleanor Rigby
The Beatles
Ah
Look at all the lonely people
Ah
Look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby
Picks up the rice
In the church
Where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window
Wearing the face
That she keeps
In a jar
By the door
Who is it for
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong
Father McKenzie
Writing the words
Of a sermon
That no one will hear
No one comes near
Look at him working
Darning his socks
In the night
When there’s nobody there
What does he care
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong
Ah
Look at all the lonely people
Ah
Look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby
Died in the church
And was buried
Along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie
Wiping the dirt
From his hands
As he walks from the grave
No one was saved
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong

The Fool On The Hill
The Beatles
Day after day
Alone on the hill
The man with the foolish grin
Is keeping perfectly still
But nobody wants to know him
They can see that he’s just a fool
And he never gives an answer
But the fool on the hill
Sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head
See the world spinning ‘round
Well on the way
His head in a cloud
The man of a thousand voices
Is talking perfectly loud
But nobody ever hears him
Or the sound he appears to make
And he never seems to notice
But the fool on the hill
Sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head
See the world spinning ‘round
And nobody seems to like him
They can tell what he wants to do
And he never shows his feelings
But the fool on the hill
Sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head
See the world spinning ‘round
Oh
Oh
Oh
Oh
Oh
Oh
‘Round
‘Round
‘Round
‘Round
‘Round
And he never listens to them
He knows that they’re the fools
They don’t like him
The fool on the hill
Sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head
See the world spinning ‘round
Oh
Oh
‘Round
‘Round
‘Round
‘Round
Oh

Lovely spiritual lyrics....Amazing blog. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Shabnam!!!
ReplyDeleteEleanor Rigby... beautiful song, but somewhat depressing lyrics, imo.
ReplyDeleteThe Beatles did some remarkable stuff musically.
I was never much of a fan of The Fool On The Hill, but Eleanor Rigby has always been one of my most favorite Beatles songs because of it being such a catchy tune. Then the lyrics to both hit really close to home after our Heavenly Father opened my ears to hear what was being sung. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Rob!!!
ReplyDeletePROPER MUSIC!
ReplyDeleteHow unusual to find you appreciate this!
Hey, The Stones will be here next week--our Heavenly Father being willing, of course. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!!
