ATF: Alright Already

This series will include as many of my all-time favorite (ATF) tunes as I can get my grubby little hands on (so to speak).  Now, each one included in each edition will have some connection with the other—albeit only as a figment of my imagination, but they will not be numbered.  For I just cannot bring myself to rate some higher than others.  So, this will not be a countdown, but if you are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t matter.  Besides, with no countdown, this could go on forever and ever!  Oh, and despite the fact that there is absolutely no way your musical tastes could be as exquisite as mine, I welcome any suggestions you might dare to make.  For I am, after all, quite magnanimous by nature.

Like the Sun
Guardian
See my life in a movie show
A hidin’ place I used to know
Played an actor's role
That stole from my true part
Take me down the road a-ways
And I'm thankful for these better days
I never dreamed you’d love me like you do
My it seems it’s been a long and lonely winter
I hear your voice in the mornin’

When I'm sad
I feel you smile
And whisper to me
Every little thing will be alright
Like the sun
Comes shinin' through my window
Breaks the darkness
In the early morning light

Sing a song of sixpence
And a pocket full of rye
In the fall it seems
The blackbirds fly away
And there's times I'm feelin' not so strong
Can't face another highway song
Then I remember
That you're never too far away
As I walk down this lonely stretch of highway
I hear your voice
Callin' me back home

When I'm sad
I feel you smile
And whisper to me
Every little thing will be alright
Like the sun
Comes shinin' through my window
Breaks the darkness
In the early mornin’ light

Long ago
And so far away
Lives a dream
A dream I used to know
Like the sun in the mornin’
Shinin' on my face
You bring me home again
Home again
To you

Oooh
I'm so glad
To feel you smile
And whisper to me
Every little thing will be alright
Like the sun
Shinin' through my window
Breaks the darkness
In the early mornin’ light
Oh
I'm so glad
Yeah
To feel you smile
And whisper to me
Every little thing will be alright
Like the sun
Yeah
Shinin' through my window
Breaks the darkness
In the early mornin’
The early mornin’ light

Here it comes now
Here comes the sun

Oh
Here comes the sun

Oh
Oh
Here come the sun
Ooh
Yeah

I can feel the sun
Beamin’ down my Spirit
Sweet sweet Son
I feel the Son

I feel the Son
And I know
Everything will be alright

Already Gone
The Eagles
Well
I heard some people talkin'
Just the other day
And they said you were gonna
Put me on a shelf
But let me tell you I got some news for you
And you'll soon find out it's true
And then you'll have to eat your lunch
All by yourself
'Cause I'm
Already
Gone
And I'm
Feelin'
Strong
I will sing
This victory song
Woo hoo hoo
My my
Woo hoo hoo

Well
The letter that you wrote me
Made me stop and wonder why
But I guess you felt like you had to set things right
Just remember this my girl
When you look up in the sky
You can see the stars
And still not see the light
That's right

And I'm
Already
Gone
And I'm
Feelin'
Strong
I will sing
This victory song
Woo, hoo hoo
My my
Woo hoo hoo

Well
I know it wasn't you
Who held me down
Heaven knows it wasn't you
Who set me free
So often times it happens
That we live our lives in chains
And we never even know
We have the keys

But me
I'm
Already
Gone
And I'm
Feelin'
Strong
I will sing
I will sing
This victory song
'Cause I'm
Already
Gone
Yes
I'm
Already
Gone
And I'm
Feelin'
Strong
I will sing
This victory song
'Cause I'm
Already
Gone
Alright

A Sunday Drive

Back during our childhood, our parents would often load up my brother and me after Sunday morning church services for a leisurely drive around where we lived.  Even though we were seeing mostly familiar sights, it was still good to see them again, and this is why “A Sunday Drive” sounded about right for the name of a series revisiting familiar sites that are well worth seeing again and again.  The link below the image is to the site itself, and the image is linked to the post it was first included in here.

Sites To See #428

The SOLE purpose of this series is to help call attention to sites that I think many would find most interesting—in one way or another.  Just to be clear, inclusion in this series is not necessarily meant as an endorsement, and I have included sites that I found rather disturbing.  The link below each image is to the site itself, and each image is linked to the particular post from which it was taken when applicable.  Please, go see for yourself.  Oh, and as of August 10, 2012, I will be no longer including sites that have auto-play and word verification engaged.

ATF: To Eleven

Make Me Lose Control
Eric Carmen
I run a comb through my hair
And step out in the street
And the city's the color of flame
In the mid-summer heat
Oh yeah
Jennifer's got her daddy's car
She's playing “Up-Town” on the stereo
We go cruisin' so close
The way they did long ago

My darlin'

Turn
Turn the radio up
For that sweet sound
Hold me close
Never let me go
Keep
Keep this feelin' alive
Make me lose control
Baby baby
When
When I look in your eyes
I go crazy
Fever's high
With the lights down low
So take
Take me over the edge
Make me lose control

We put the top down and park
With the moon in the sky
And the wind is so hot in our hair
Like a fire in July
Oh yeah
Jennifer's singin' "Stand by Me"
And she knows every single word by heart
Was love always this good
Or could this be just the start

Oh darlin'

Turn
Turn the radio up
For that sweet sound
Hold me close
Never let me go
Keep
Keep this feelin' alive
Make me lose control
Baby baby
When
When I look in your eyes
I go crazy
Fever's high
With the lights down low
So take
Take me over the edge
Make me lose control

Keep my baby’s clothes on
And were movin' in time
And the heat from your touch
Makes me feel like I'm losing my mind
Oh yeah
And then they played
Back in my arms again
We close our eyes
We start rememberin' when
We start to kiss
And all the feelings return
And we just pray that this night never ends

Whoa oh
My darlin'

Turn
Turn the radio up
For that sweet sound
Hold me close
Never let me go
So take
Take me over the edge
Make me lose control
Baby baby
Turn
Turn the radio up
For that sweet sound
Hold me close
Never let me go
Keep
Keep this feelin' alive
Make me lose control

When I look in your eyes
I go crazy
Fever's high
With the lights down low
So take
Take me over the edge
Make me lose control
Baby baby
Turn
Turn the radio up
For that sweet sound
Hold me close
Never let me go
Keep
Keep this feelin' alive
Make me lose control

Turn Up The Radio
Autograph
Turn it up

Yeah

I'm workin’ hard
You're workin’ too
We do it every day
For every minute
I have to work
I need a minute of play
Day in
Day out
All week long
Things go better with rock
The only time
I turn it down
Is when I'm sleepin' it off

Turn up
The radio
I need the music
Gimme some more
Turn up
The radio
I wanna feel it
Got to give me some more

Now listen

I wanna shake
I wanna dance
So count it of
One
Two
Three
I hear the beat
I'm in a trance
No better place to be
Daytime
Nighttime
Anytime
Things go better with rock
I'm goin' twenty-four hours a day
I can't seem to stop

Turn up
The radio
I need the music
Gimme some more
Turn up
The radio
I wanna feel it
Got to give some more
Turn up
The radio
I wanna feel it
Got to give me some more

Turn up
The radio
I need the music
Gimme some more
Yeah
Turn up
The radio
I wanna feel it
Got to give me some more
Whoa oh
Turn up
The radio
Come on
I need the music
Gimme some more
Everybody
Turn up
The Radio
Turn it up
I wanna feel it
Got to give me some more
Whoa oh
Turn up
The radio
Turn it up
I need the music
Gimme some more
Gimme some more
Turn up
The radio

Cracks in My Snow Globe?

One could say that it sure appeared to be an absolutely incredible night without employing any exaggeration at all.  For it looked more like high noon than around midnight with an extraordinarily bright full moon shining down upon well over three feet of freshly fallen snow and more coming down.

Adding all the more to the surrealism was an occasional gust of wind.  For it would send millions of tiny ice crystals and snowflakes swirling into the air—much like glitter in a snow globe after it has been shook.

In spite of my agony, I just had to smile at the thought of a snow globe.  For one of the funniest things I have ever seen is a Pixar short film about a snowman trying to get out of his snow globe in order to have some fun with a blonde beach bunny, who was urging him to come on over and party with her and her friends.

However, my moment of mirth was just that—a moment.  For what floated through my mind next was an image of our Heavenly Father and dozens of His holy angels laughing their heads off while watching the most popular comedy in Heaven, which was a show about me trying to get out of the snow globe I had been trapped in my entire life.  In reality, I had always thought of my life in this world as being more like being trapped in a vacuum than a snow globe, but the premise remains the same.

That was an excerpt from [Let Your Will Be Done] and the Pixar short film mentioned in it.  Let Your Will Be Done is the second in line of four books added to [FishHawk Droppings].

[A Love For TheAges] is the first one now in line, and it should be more acceptable to all who are highly allergic to direct references to our Heavenly Father.  For it does not contain any, but the short story should still sound very familiar.

Rounding out the new additions are [Broken Branches] and [The God Box].  Downloadable fancy PDFs of the four additions are now available for free. The same applies for the other four books on the site.

Alas, the wonderful lives that Arlynda and I have been given to live continue to deteriorate.  Therefore, I have been given permission to ask for donations from those who receive some value from the books on FishHawk Droppings.  Be assured that even just a dollar would mean so very much.

Hearing just how much you enjoyed reading what I have been given to say would mean even more, of course.  All who did not find anything enjoyable can keep their comments to themselves—thank you so very much!

Oh, my Editor just reminded me of the fact that you could not see me grinning when I wrote that last part.  I am really sorry about that (kinda).

Cloister-Case

Alas, it is time for me to shut this down for awhile.  For I just don’t have enough energy to accomplish all that I have been given to do, with one book being yet to reach fruition while others are in desperate need of some more pruning.  Therefore, I need to stop publishing “stuff” here.

As instructed, I have already taken down the books on the Amazon Kindle platform in favor of making them available as a free PDF when they are finished.  No, I have not been assured that they will be any more palatable to the tastes of most, but at least they should be a little more grammatically-correct to those allergic to incorrectness.

Hopefully, I will be back at adding to this mess here in 2-3 months, but don’t think that I am disappearing from cyberspace altogether.  Oh no, I would not want you-all to forget about me.  So, I will be leaving comments here and there from time to time.

Yeah, that’s actually me as I now am up there on the left.  Be assured that it is out of great concern for the emotional well-being of all of the lovely lasses, who will be surely missing my “stuff” so desperately that I included the picture.  I am sorry for not letting them down easier, but I figured it would be better to make it clear that I really don’t look like [Sam Elliott] or [Tom Selleck].  Yeah, I suppose I could have not made it so abundantly clear.  Sigh.

P.S.: Just in case you are wondering how Arlynda can stand to be around me, I will let you in on the secret to my romantic success.  Okay, also wearing a festive garland of lettuce leaves and tomato slices most certainly doesn’t hurt.  (TMI?)
