ATF: Conjoined 3

This series will include as many of my all-time favorite (ATF) tunes as I can get my grubby little hands on (so to speak).  Now, each one included in each edition will have some connection with the other—albeit only as a figment of my imagination, but they will not be numbered.  For I just cannot bring myself to rate some higher than others.  So, this will not be a countdown, but if you are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t matter.  Besides, with no countdown, this could go on forever and ever!  Oh, and despite the fact that there is absolutely no way your musical tastes could be as exquisite as mine, I welcome any suggestions you might dare to make.  For I am, after all, quite magnanimous by nature.

Iris
Goo Goo Dolls
And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now
And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
'Cause sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

Name
Goo Goo Dolls
And even though the moment passed me by
I still can't turn away
‘Cause all the dreams you never thought you'd lose
Got tossed along the way
And letters that you never meant to send
Got lost or thrown away

And now we're grown up orphans
And never knew their names
We don't belong to no one
That's a shame
But you could hide beside me
Maybe for a while
And I won't tell no one your name
And I won't tell 'em your name

And scars are souvenirs you never lose
The past is never far
Did you lose yourself somewhere out there
Did you get to be a star
And don't it make you sad to know that life
Is more than who we are

We grew up way too fast
And now there's nothing to believe
And reruns all become our history
A tired song keeps playing on a tired radio
And I won't tell no one your name
And I won't tell 'em your name
I won't tell em' your name
Oooh oooh oooh
I won't tell em' your name
Ow

I think about you all the time
But I don't need the same
It's lonely where you are
Come back down
And I won't tell 'em your name

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Silver Fox!!! I first heard them over the radio while I was still on the truck. Be assured that the name of the band is rather off-putting to me, but these two songs hit home hard for more than what appears to being actually sung.

  3. Seriously? Do you realize how long it took me to get the song Iris unstuck from my head? Not that it's a bad song but I was getting tired of humming the same song all day long. Now it's going to be back thanks to you

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Lin!!! I'd sure like to know what you did to upset the wonderful people at Blogger/Google. For I don't receive an email notification (and haven't for quite some time) of your (and a few others) comments. Thankfully, they do show up on the dashboard. Oh, and I hope Joe gets a snicker out of my HUBBA HUBBA about your latest hip-wader shot (even though I was being serious).
