Hey, what else can
I say? I have been having just too much
fun having another heart attack to get somewhat back to work here online by now.
My eyes are still
really messed up, but I am hoping that will start improving considerably in the
next 2-3 weeks. I am scheduled to get
the Avastin shot into my left eye next Thursday (Sept. 17) and I am scheduled
to start seeing a doctor again for my high blood pressure and diabetes the same
day. Oh yeah, I have lots of other
details to pass along, but that will have to wait a little longer.
I can tell you that
one of the great shocks I received during my four days in the hospital was
finding out that I now weight 108 kilos, which converts to around 238
pounds! I had been telling the medical
people that I thought I weighted around 300 pounds while hoping that it was not
much closer to 350. The last time I was
officially weighted was around two years ago, and I weighted 348 (I think) back
then.
Of course, since I
have shrank three inches in height, I
now need to be around 160 to think of myself as not being overweight instead of
the rock-sold 200 pounds when I was at least a full six feet in height and in
great shape. Nonetheless, I am still
well pleased to think of now weighting JUST 238 as meaning that I actually ain’t
all that.

Oh....well, the good thing is you're here to tell the tale, Jerry! Heart attack?? There are other ways to keep busy, you know!!!! Goodness!!
ReplyDeleteTake care...obviously you are...but take care, anyway....good hear from you. :)
Thanks for stopping by, my dear Lee!!! They called it a light heart attack. So, I don't think death was imminent, but since it involved trying not to (and failing badly) to throw-up for close to 36 hours, be assured that I was hoping for death. Alas, it has been awhile since I had the dry heaths, and they have not been missed. I hope to be over to see what you have been up to soon,
DeleteSo sorry to hear about that second heart attack, but the weight loss is great. I've been losing weight by cutting out carbs but I'm still a chubby chatterbox.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Stephen!!! Quite frankly, my weight loss has been due to simply not eating much of anything. Nothing really tastes good anymore, but since I rarely actually feel hungry, it has not been all that bad. I never have been a big eater in comparison to many others I have known, but my wife now eats more in one setting than I usually do in a couple of days. As with Lee, I hope to be over to see what you have been up to soon.
DeleteThis leaves me jaw dropped, wondering if this is true, wondering if this a piece of fiction, or what.
ReplyDeleteIf true, my prayers are with you, a Living Loving God surrounds you.
Thanks for stopping by, my dear Susan!!! Be assured that it is all too real, and it has been by our Heavenly Father's hand. Some of it was to get me to start truly trusting Him again, but it also involved finding out (in a very hard way) some more about the fundamental principles of at least our local healthcare systems. When my eyes get better (or I am allowed and enabled to better adjust to the way they are now) I am to publish a couple of articles to cover both sides to this latest story. Oh, and I will be over to see what you have been up to as soon as I can.
DeleteNot good to hear of your heart attack...speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Whiteangel!!! Well, it is turning out to be a very good thing, but I sure would not want to have to experience something similar again.
DeleteI'm speechless. I'm also sorry to hear about the heart attack. Glad you're still with us though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Ann!!! Arlynda claims that our pups really missed me while I was in the hospital, but I know that they really just missed the amount of treats they normally receive from me behind Arlynda's back.
DeleteHunny! Hunny! Hunny! How perfectly horrible for you! Get well steadily and gradually, rest, exercise, listen to your wife *grin*. Keep me in the loop, will ya. And know that you are in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Shadow!!! For the past 22 years or so, I have been saying that I perfectly understand the principle behind counting it all joy while not being quite ready to be able to actually do it myself. Well, I am almost glad my latest round of health issues happened now...almost. Sigh.
DeleteWow. Congratulations on the weight loss, and very sorry to hear about the heart attack! I myself suffered a "mild" heart attack two years ago, and at least Iit convinced me to quit smoking.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Silver Fox!!! My first heart attack was of the silent variety and self-diagnosed, but this last one was a lot more pronounced. Be assured that I will start taking my high blood pressured issues much more seriously.
DeleteWell done you! Losing all that weight with just one small heart attack!
ReplyDeleteThe sooner your eyes get done the better I say.
Keep going, you will be fit enough to annoy us all once again soon.
Thanks for stopping by, my dear Adullamite!!! Well, one must do what needs to be done. Cheery-o, yo!
DeleteHi Jerry! Popped in and glad I did. I'm sorry you are dealing with all these health issues. Will send some healing energies your way and continue the good job of losing weight! After losing 55 pounds I've hit a roadblock and I need to jumpstart myself again!! Keep us updated.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Barb!!! Yeah, those weight-loss plateaus can be so disheartening. I have had to work on my weight my entire life while my younger brother could eat six very full meals a day and lose weight. No, it is really not fair, and it is even worse for most women. Before I became so sick 22 years ago, I could just stop eating and start seriously exercising to keep in good shape, but when I could no longer exercise, I ballooned to over 400 pounds. I hope it goes well for you.
