TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

We Gotta Get Out Of This Place
The Animals
In this dirty old part of the city
Where the sun refused to shine
People tell me there ain’t no use in tryin’
Now my girl you’re so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true
You’ll be dead before your time is due
I know

Watch my daddy in bed and tired
Watch his hair been turnin’ gray
He’s been workin’ and slavin’ his life away
Oh yes I know it
Oh
He’s been workin’ so hard
Yeah
I’ve been workin’ too babe
Yeah
Every night and day
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah

We gotta get out of this place
If it’s the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
‘Cause girl
There’s a better life
For me and you

Now my girl you’re so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true yeah
You’ll be dead before your time is due
I know it

Watch my daddy in bed and tired
Watch his hair been turnin’ gray yeah
He’s been workin’ and slavin’ his life away
I know
He’s been workin’ so hard
Yeah
I been workin’ too babe
Yeah
Every day baby
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah

We gotta get out of this place
If it’s the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
Girl
There’s a better life
For me and you
Somewhere baby
Somehow I know it baby
We gotta get out of this place
If it’s the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
Girl
There’s a better life
For me and you
Believe me baby
I know it baby
You know it too

Please Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood
The Animals
Baby
Do you understand me now
‘Cause sometimes
I seem a little mad
But don’t you know
That no one alive
Can always be an angel
When things go wrong
I seem a little mad

But I’m just a soul
Whose intentions are good
Oh Lord
Please don’t let me be misunderstood

You know sometimes baby
I’m so carefree
With a joy
That’s hard to hid
And sometimes
It seems that all I have to do is worry
Then you’re bound
To see my other side

But I’m just a soul
Whose intentions are good
Oh Lord
Please don’t let me be misunderstood

If I seem edgy
I want you to know
That I never mean to
Take it out on you
Life has its problems
And I get my share
And that’s one thing
I never need to do
Because I love you

Oh
Oh baby I’m just human
Have thoughts
Like any other one
Sometimes I find myself
Long regretting
Some foolish thing
Some little simple thing I’ve done

But I’m just a soul
Whose intentions are good
Oh Lord
Please don’t let me be misunderstood
Yes I’m just a soul
Whose intentions are good
Oh Lord
Please don’t let me be misunderstood
Yes I’m just a soul
Whose intentions are good
Oh Lord
Please don’t let me be misunderstood

  1. I saw these guys on a TV special quite recently, not sure how many of them were originals members though. There was one guy that looked like he hadn't even been born in the 60s.

  2. I always liked them. Had a bit of a crush on the lead singer, Eric Burdon - I liked his less than pretty boy looks.

  4. I believe the animal in this house was singing that second song right after I yelled at him for the fifth time to come in the house

  5. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ryan!!! Yeah, I suppose replacing parts of a classic rock band is kinda like replacing parts on a classic car. For it may still sound pretty good, but it is just not the same.

  6. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! Well, it is kinda hard for me to think of any of them as being bad boys in their matching suits. So, listening to their music over the radio is a better experience for me.

  7. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Sandie!!! What are you talking about? I mean, where haven't you been so far this summer?

  8. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! Yeah, our little Grayson has a hard time coming back in once we get him to go out, and our Stewart is even worse. For he just loves smelling the flowers, chasing squirrels (real or imagined) and making sure that every blade of grass in the backyard has been watered.
