TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Have You Ever Seen The Rain
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Someone told me long ago
There’s a calm before the storm
I know
It’s been comin’ for some time
When it’s over so they say
It’ll rain a sunny day
I know
Shinin’ down like water

I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain
I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain
Comin’ down
On a sunny day

Yesterday and days before
Sun is cold and rain is hard
I know
Been that way for all my time
‘Til forever on it goes
Through the circle fast and slow
I know
It can’t stop I wonder

I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain
I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain
Comin’ down
On a sunny day
Yeah
I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain
I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain
Comin’ down
On a sunny day

Fortunate Son
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Some folks are born
Made to wave the flag
Ooh
They’re red white and blue
And when the band plays
Hail to the Chief
Ooh
They’re pointin’ the canon at you Lord

It ain’t me
It ain’t me
I ain’t no senator’s son son
It ain’t me
It ain’t me
I ain’t no fortunate one no

Some folks are born
Silver spoon in hand
Lord
Don’t they help themselves oh
But when the taxman
Comes to the door
Lord
The house looks like a rummage sale yeah

It ain’t me
It ain’t me
I ain’t no millionaire’s son no no
It ain’t me
It ain’t me
I ain’t no fortunate one no

Yeah
Some folks inherit
Star-spangled eyes
Ooh
They send you down to war Lord
And when you ask them
How much should we give
Ooh
They only answer
More
More
More
Yo

It ain’t me
It ain’t me
I ain’t no military son son no
It ain’t me
It ain’t me
I ain’t no fortunate one one
It ain’t me
It ain’t me
I ain’t no fortunate one no no no
It ain’t me
It ain’t me
I ain’t no fortunate son no no no
It ain’t me

  1. YES!
Although the second one may get you arrested by the 'Tea party.'

  2. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!! Oh how I wish our Heavenly Father will not make us reap what we have sown, with the Tea Party being a good example of what is to come for America if He does.

  4. CCR! YESSS!!! Their version of "Heard It Through The Grapevine" is magnificent - John Fogerty guitar solo - fabulous. Yes, I really like Marvin Gaye - and this is instance where both versions are of equal delight...::singing and bopping:: There's a bad moon on the rise....

  6. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! Alas, they have recorded so many truly great songs, it was hard picking only two. If I live long enough, I will feature a couple of other songs next time around. Oh yeah, it ain't "Heard It On The Grapevine," but I think you will enjoy what is scheduled for Thursday.

  7. Love CCR...this sure brings back memories! John Fogarty has a unique and interesting voice. I also really like their "Bad Moon Rising". Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

  10. I've always liked CCR but Wade can't stand them for some reason. We listen to a classic rock station and every time one of their songs come on he changes it

  11. Thanks for stopping by, my dear LadyCat!!! Bad Moon Rising was seriously considered for this round. For it is another one of their truly great songs, and it will certainly make it into the next round. If I live long enough, that is.

  12. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Sir Mike of Golch!!! After you getting me to visit LadyCat's site, I figured it was about time for you to be officially knighted.

  13. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ryan!!! The background on CCR is a little strange. For a great many of their songs make you think that they are from the deep south here in America while the truth is that they are from the central part of California

  14. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! You should get Duke to keep a very close eye on him.
