How Many Times
WhiteHeart
Lord
I got no more tears to cry
Someone has hurt me
Done me wrong
I’m walking wounded
Oh Lord

Lord
This pain is a knife of fire
Why does it have to turn out this way
Why do the innocent seem to pay

How many times
Must I stand in the waves of this crashing sea
How many times
Must I forgive all the hurt that’s been done to me
Let the jury go
Set the sinner free
Of seventy times seven

Lord
I really don’t understand
I’m looking ‘round for some stones to throw
You’re telling me I should let it go

How many times
Must I stand in the waves of this crashing sea
How many times
I hear what you’re saying inside of me
But I don’t understand the mystery
Of seventy times seven

How many times
Have you wept from the anguish of all my shame
How many times
Have I nailed you up on the cross of pain
You bled from a broken heart and I was to blame
Seventy times seven
Over and over again
Seventy times seven

Lord you know just how hard I have tried
Seventy times seven
Gotta see that I’m hurting inside
Seventy times seven
Don’t you know that my pride is at stake
Seventy times seven
So tell me how much one should take
Seventy times seven
Seventy times seven
Seventy times seven

TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Sorrow
Flyleaf
Sometimes life seems too quiet
Into paralyzing silence
Like the moonless dark
Meant to make me strong
Familiar breath of my old lies
Changed the color in my eyes
Soon he will perforate the fabric
Of the peaceful by and by

Sorrow lasts through this night
I’ll take this piece of you
And hold for all eternity
For just one second I felt whole
As you flew right through me

Left alone with only reflections of the memory
To face the ugly girl
That’s smothering me
Sitting closer than my pain
He knew each tear before it came
Soon he will perforate the fabric
Of the peaceful by and by

Sorrow lasts through this night
I’ll take this piece of you
And hold for all eternity
For just one second I felt whole
As you flew right through me

And we kiss each other one more time
And sing this lie that’s halfway mine
The sword is slicing through the question
So I won’t be fooled by his angel light

Sorrow lasts through this night
I’ll take this piece of you
And hold for all eternity
For just one second I felt whole
As you flew right through me
And up into the stars

Joy will come

I’m So Sick
Flyleaf
I will break into your thoughts
With what’s written on my heart
I will break
Break

I’m so sick
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss
Selfishness
I’m so sick
I’m so sick

If you want more of this
We can push out
Sell out
Die out
So you’ll shut up
And stay sleeping
With my screaming in your itching ears

I’m so sick
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss
Selfishness
I’m so sick
I’m so sick

Hear it
I’m screaming it
You’re heeding to it now

Hear it
I’m screaming it
You tremble at this sound

You sink into my clothes
And this invasion
Makes me feel
Worthless
Hopeless
Sick

I’m so sick
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss
Selfishness
I’m so
I’m so sick
I’m so sick

I’m so sick
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss
Selfishness
I’m so
I’m so sick
I’m so
I’m so sick

Come Monday...Willie Wonka

“Come Monday…” is a weekly series that will involve a review of websites, movies, documentaries, television shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time. Be assured that these reviews will be generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come Monday.” This is subject to change, however. In fact, I would be most derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while. For rants promote change, and change can be good—right? Therefore, since good is generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (I am told).

[Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory] has not been one of my favorite movies (to say the least). My wife loves it, but it keeps trying to turn into a musical, which is something that I do not suffer gladly. Furthermore, Willie Wonka himself is generally rather indifferent until the very end of the movie, and by then, I have become as such to any of the reasons that he may have for appearing that way.

Alas, as with so many other things, our Heavenly Father has changed my way of looking at what is really going on in this movie. In fact, He even insists that it comes close to portraying what He has been doing in this world. So, was it from the Lord God Almighty Himself that I heard this or was it something else?

If you are not already quite familiar with the movie, I highly recommend you taking some time to see it for yourself. The YouTube clips provided overlap in some places, but they cover the entire movie in 10 minute or so bites.

If you don’t have time for such nonsense, the movie is basically about an eccentric confectioner, who places 5 golden tickets in chocolate candy bars that have been distributed throughout this world. The ones who find the golden tickets are invited to compete for a lifetime supply of chocolate during a tour of his factory, which has reportedly not had anyone go into, nor come out from, for several years. To add even more intrigue to the plot, a man, who identifies himself as being a rival of Willie Wonka, namely a Mr. Slugworth, offers each holder of a golden ticket £10,000 for an Everlasting Gobstopper, which is a new candy that could bring ruin to his fortunes. At the end of the tour, only Charlie has not been clearly eliminated from contention, but he is informed that he is also a loser because of breaking a rule along the way. Charlie redeems himself, however, by giving back the Everlasting Gobstopper that he had been given during the tour to Mr. Wonka instead of giving it to Mr. Slugworth. It is at this time that it is revealed that Mr. Slugworth is actually an employee of Mr. Wonka, and Charlie is given not only a lifetime supply of chocolate, but the factory itself, where he and his family can live for the rest of their days.

No, the movie is not an exact portrayal of what our Heavenly Father wants to accomplish, but it come oh so very close in ways that most dare not consider. So, have you been given ears to hear, and the courage to accept what He actually says is absolutely true? Of course, it may very well be just a figment of my own demonically-inspired imagination.

A Sunday Drive

Back during my childhood, my parents would often load up my brother and I after Sunday morning church services for a leasurely drive around where we lived. Even though we were seeing mostly familiar sights, it was still good to see them, and this is why “A Sunday Drive” sounded about right for the name of a weekly series revisiting familiar sites that are well worth seeing again and again.

Sites To See

This is the new version of FIVE FOR FRIDAY. As with the former, it is the SOLE purpose of this weekly series to call attention to sites that I think many would find most interesting—in one way or another.

A Love Calling
WhiteHeart
Like the dawn breaking
The Light came shining through
And a heart broken
Is now a heart given to You
But still there’s something deeper
Something more than gratitude
And it’s saying
Saying
Saying
There’s so much more that we can do

We’ve got a love calling
A love calling
Oh we’ve got a love calling
‘Cause we hear Love calling

Ah there’s a new wind blowing
Since we’ve been given this call
When Your Spirit is leading
Oh it doesn’t feel like a burden at all
There are still lands locked in darkness
There are hearts like an empty room
And we’ll never know how to help them
Until Father
We listen to you

We’ve got a love calling
A love calling
Oh we got a love calling
‘Cause we hear Love calling

Like the rustle of an autumn breeze
I can hear You whisper inside of me
And I know
In my heart of hearts I do believe
Now I’m thanking You for giving me

A love calling
Oh a love calling
Oh we’ve got a love calling
‘Cause we hear a love falling
Calling for a new vision
Oh a heart mission
Oh and it’s drawing
It’s drawing us
‘Cause we hear Love calling
A love calling

Do you hear His love calling
Do you give yourself away
Oh do you feel He’s drawing you nearer
Do you feel Him drawing near you

Fall Behind Me
The Donnas
I can’t believe she bought it
She got too close and she caught it
Had a point but she forgot it

When you skip steps on the way up
The gaps have a way of catching up
And you can’t cover that with make-up

You’re gonna fall behind me
You’re gonna cry and beg for mercy
‘Cause you’re not ready baby
And you got nothin’ on me
And you got nothin’ on me

Now that I’m getting to know her
Part of me wants to show her
Who she’s really screwing over

‘Cause she’s go nothing real
Taking everything she can steal
Just like it was her last meal

You’re gonna fall behind me
You’re gonna cry and beg for mercy
‘Cause you’re not ready baby
And you got nothin’ on me

You’re gonna fall behind me
You’re gonna cry and beg for mercy
‘Cause you’re not ready baby
And you got nothin’ on me
And you got nothin’ on me

How long is she gonna be around
And how long do we have to watch her dumb it down
‘Cause when it’s cheap it fades fast
And how long does she thing it’s gonna last

You’re gonna fall behind me
You’re gonna cry and beg for mercy
‘Cause you’re not ready baby
And you go nothin’ on me

You’re gonna fall behind me
You’re gonna cry and beg for mercy
‘Cause you’re not ready baby
And you got nothin’ on me
And you got nothin’ on me
And you got nothin’ on me
And you got nothin’ on me
And you got nothin’ on me

Don’t Break Me Down
The Donnas
Don’t break me
Don’t break me down
Can’t you see
My hands on the ground
I can’t remember my name
And I promise
It won’t be the same

Did you steal it
Can you feel it
‘Cause I’m starting to feel it now
So don’t break me down

Don’t break me
Don’t break me down
Don’t bury
My words in the ground
I can’t sleep at night
And I know without me
That you’re not all right

Can you taste it
Can you face it
‘Cause I’m starting to face it now
So don’t break me down

Don’t break me
Don’t break me down
Can’t you see
My hands on the ground
I know I’m holding on too tight
But just give me some time
And I’ll get it right

Did you steal it
Can you feel it
‘Cause I’m starting to feel it now
So don’t break me down

Can you taste it
Can you face it
‘Cause I’m ready to face it now
So don’t break me down

Don’t break me
Don’t break me down
Don’t break me
Don’t break me down
Don’t break me
